Designing Dreams is Ampa Events. As a full service event production company, Ampa provides complete creative design solutions tailored to the needs of each couple. Choice is what makes us different. First, choose from designers with over 25 years of experience. Second, experience the ease of producing an event with a company that has a massive inventory of just about every type of event equipment curated over three decades. And, for the very special final touches, choose custom fabrication services. Working closely with you, our services include designing, planning, managing and executing your dreams. Since 1996 we have created programs for corporations, associations and worthy causes as well as partnered with DMC’s, travel organizations, caterers, planners and venues. Have fun with your special day. Ampa’s inventory is your friend with unique elements and a broad selection of many categories of event equipment & decor. With helpful services such as Phone Consulting, eCommerce Ordering and a la carte technical services, Ampa makes the process a bit easier. If you are DIY, remember, our staff is on standby to offer assistance as need it.

Over this period, our team has designed with every color, texture, structure, trend and look. As a company, we have depth in personnel, somebody will always be available to assist. This team concept provides back ups to our back ups. We have multiple technicians available for install and a variety of designers to choose from to fit your theme, style and aesthetic.

For weddings, Ampa’s specialty can best be described as ones with Big Requirements. Since we have so much equipment in stock, we are extremely capable in managing and installing programs with many equipment and technical needs. For instance, we love events in unique venues and remote locations such as a tented event that requires wedding decorations including chandeliers, lighting, technical installations and electrical services; party rentals, decor, designer dining tables, linens, specialty chairs, centerpieces, designer bars, dance floors, stages, stringers, fabric treatments and much more. Full Service Wedding Planning

From engagement, moving planning forward to the reception and departure for the honeymoon, a wedding  planner will be by your side helping you in every task or the desired tasks. Planners will help you evaluate and select officiants, wedding service sites, reception sites, transportation to receptions, budgeting, contract negotiations, vendors, design and production of reception, scheduling, the technical site evaluation, logistics, all the little things and the big things. The list can seem never ending. Methodically we will work on it together.

Month of Services

Month of Services is a good choice for the bride who has the advance planning and much of the work addressed. As you approach the wedding date, things get busier and you may just need an additional set of hands. Keep a list of what assistance is needed. We are happy to plan seating, transportation, review of all vendor for a final check, management of information flow and help with seamless execution of the rehearsal dinner and wedding day.

Day of Services

While this is a popular approach, at Ampa, we have a keen understanding of all the details that go into a wedding. Since our Designers generally work with couples who have medium to large events, most do not offer Day of Services only. Please review individual Designers offerings. Day of Coordinators are available.

Partial Services

Consider what you, and your friends and family will do to help plan the event associated with your Wedding Weekend. What can we do to fill in the gaps? Ampa Events is happy to provide a la carte services and plug in where you need us. Do you need scale drawings? Electrical assessment? Site management? Reception design and production services? Time lines? Specialty event party rentals? The best furniture rental? Custom built wedding service sets or arches? Floral arch rental or centerpieces? Ampa Events has everything under one roof including warehouses full of product, planning support, logistics, design and fabrication.

Special Event Design and Production Services

For three decades, Ampa team members have designed and produced successful events in just about every location – indoor and out. One barn needed to be cleaned out, including copperheads, pigeons and reinforce the loft that was about to fall. It is all in a day’s work. With both formal training at the university level and years of practical experience, the Ampa team understands events from front of house to back of house.

Event Equipment Rental and Technical Services

For couples with the planning covered, account managers will help coordinate the “right” mix of equipment to achieve the desired look through rental drop off or delivery with professional installation services. One hour of general design consulting is included with every rental order. Technical services may be added a la carte: Rigging, installation, carpentry, lighting, electrical load calculation and electrical management, audio visual, web streaming services, sound, special effects and more.

Often, couples have great ideas, but who will do the work? Ampa will!

Lounge Furniture

For a cocktail hour adjacent to the main reception, treat your guests to lovely designer lounge furniture. This becomes a quieter space to get away when the music starts. For the head table, select a designer wedding table with lovely chairs. Barstools are fun around the dance floor. At Ampa, there are plenty of choices for the best furniture rentals.
   

 

Wedding Structures: Gazebos, Pergolas, Chuppahs, Mandaps, Floral Arches

Traditional garden structures, religious structures, floral arches, sheer drape with swags, boxwood or custom structures just for fun, clients may choose from in stock or engage us for a custom element.

Dance Floor Wraps & White Dance Floor Rentals

Simply Stunning! Convert any hotel dance floor with a gloss vinyl lamination featuring a monogram, a message or icon images that describe your unique personality. Ampa’s graphics artist use large scale printing and map the design on to large and smaller dance floors.

Hired by Alyson Taylor,  Ampa was tapped for equipment and creative solutions:

Custom Fabrication:  The design and build of a custom Church Stage Set to resemble the brides hometown church.
 

Artisan Craft Work: Ampa artist designed and built a stain glass window inspired byt the home town church and given to the bride as a special keepsake.  

Unique Rentals: Both the bride and groom are biking enthusiasts. Ampa’s Giant Trike was a unique and fun way to “ride” into the receipt and announced for the first time as husband and wife.

Party Rentals: sheer drape, bars and more

Winter white and gold reception with a dramatic 20ft bar, sheers, greenery, lovely centerpieces, lighting, lounge furniture and finishing touches.

Featured Event: Indian Wedding, The Mellon Auditorium

Ampa Events acted as a purveyor of the equipment, Lighting and technical services. This bride had a laser focus and designed her own reception from our extensive inventory. As an approved preferred vendor for one of the loveliest antique federal buildings, Ampa managed historic requirements, and executed according to the brides design.

Featured Event: Wright Wedding

The first request from the bride was:  “can you build me a boat?” This was our most unusual “keepsake” request.  The bride informed us she already had a place for it in their house. Custom fabrication is even more fun for the Ampa team when working with enthusiastic clients. A hostess sat in the boat and passed wedding service brochures two guests as they walked to the beach.

Featured Event: A Luncheon Hosted By St. Regis & sponsored by Ampa Events 

As the event designer and purveyor of equipment, Ampa Events sponsored a lovely early spring luncheon hosted by the St Regis Hotel on 16th Street in DC held for the top 12 Wedding Designers of the Capitol Region.  The Astor Terrace provided the perfect backdrop for Ampa’s hand made, knotty pine, rich chestnut stained provincial dining table and barrel bars complimented by fresh spring colors.

Featured Event: Sarah & Mark

Brides are usually pretty busy, but Sarah and her family were busier than usual rescheduling a wedding during a pandemic and trying to coordinate with a big Greek family traveling from around the country.  Amidst all the preparations the bride and mother of the bride were not available for the normal chats I love to have when I am designing a reception.  My design guidance was, essentially, two words: Sage & White; and one phrase:  “simple elegance.”  Chatting with friends, I finalized on a design including lovely, rich English Chestnut Stained Knotty Pine designer wedding tables for the bridal party supported by a backdrop of stained wood elements, boxwood, lighting and drape. Ted Rubis has over 30 years of experience designing events, building props and scenery, working with drape treatments and fabrics, installing intricate theatrical lighting designs, and managing the details of technical services such as audio video, lighting, electrical and logistics.  Rock solid in theater arts, technical theater, carpentry, painting, and lighting – he is more than a wedding planner.
