How do you dim the lights for a High School event but still have eyes on the students?

You hire Ampa Events to install a fly rig of lighting!

For Monacan HS, our instructions were specific. Decorate for the theme, but we need to see the students during the event.

Easy for Ampa with all our resources in stock. We arrived at 11am, assemble a 30ft section of truss and using 1/2 ton theatrical chain motor winches, we fly the truss from the Gym’s steel beams. On the truss, we hang standard theatrical fixtures to project gobo theme images with lighting just like we do for a theater performance.

Mamma Mia was the theme for the homecoming dance! Fun and Colorful! Down lighting with fun polkadots, and geo patterns plus Ampa Water Effect Projectors for the dance floor carried the theme. For the administration, 2 clusters of dimmable paper lantern chandeliers with 75 watt bulbs to care of the “we need to see the students.”

Ampa Events offers exceptionally professional, detailed, reasonably priced, and more than accommodating services. They provided decor and life-size props for the 2018 Howard University Graduate Student Assembly Awards Gala which had an Egyptian theme. They were very patient while we were in our planning process and played an integral role in the execution of our event which exceeded our expectations (Mina- design of original invoice, Sandy- payments and invoice accommodations, Lou- revision of the invoice). All of the Ampa Events staff did a wonderful job in assisting us, but I must take the time to give a major shoutout to Mr. Tripp who delivered, installed, broke down our event! He was the only vendor who arrived at the agreed upon call time (early in fact), without an excuse, concern, or question beyond what we needed him to do. He met us with a warm personality, even after our event which ended after 1am. He was extremely diligent, fast and detailed in his work. When only one volunteer showed up to help us set up at the agreed upon call time before our event, Mr. Tripp stepped in using his blatant, refined experience and expertise to set all the props we ordered in the perfect way making the room look great and equally wowing our 200 guests at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel’s Grand Ballroom in Washington, D.C. We recently hosted an event in Richmond to honor our chief executive officer’s 20th anniversary. Our theme was “A Starry Night,” and Ampa Events provided us the lighting equipment necessary to create the effect of stars broadcast throughout the room for the occasion.
